The other natural gas.
Know your options.
Natural Gas has become a popular choice for home owners in Ontario.
Originally embraced as a new alternative to other fuels, Natural Gas is a fossil fuel that burns more efficiently than traditional home comfort fuels such as oil.
Installation Considerations
To install natural gas in your home you'll have several decisions to make. Is your home already ducted and has space for a furnace? If so, it may be a simple transition. If not, your home may be able to be retroactively fitted with ducts and natural gas appliances. A certified installation specialist needs to assess your home to see if it is feasible to add ducting and makes sense to operate using natural gas.
Environmental considerations
Natural gas is extracted from the ground in the form of fracking. Hydraulic fracturing (or fracking), is a technique designed to recover gas and oil from shale rock. Fracking has become a controversial environmental topic recently. We recommend that you do your own research to decide if this type of fuel aligns with your relationship with our environment.
Lifestyle considerations
Natural gas offers an all-in-one solution for home comfort. Simply put, it is really easy to live with. Once installed, you don’t need to think about it. Your home will be connected to a natural gas line and you can enjoy uninterrupted service. From a cost standpoint, natural gas is very effective when compared to baseboard, oil and propane heating.
